Keep a Safe DistanceDriving Too Close

Nearly half of motorway drivers are risking accidents by
driving too close to the vehicle in front. A survey found
that the M4 in Berkshire was the worst with more than 70% of drivers guilty of tailgating (Source: RAC). Keeping a safer distance between you and the vehicle in front increases visibility and allows you to adapt to changes in traffic flow more easily. The minimum safe distance between you and the vehicle in front should be at least 2 seconds. This needs to be increased in adverse weather conditions.
